Things are heating up in Otto’s Kitchen, and Otto’s Smokin’ Rocket is on fire! .
The Otto’s brand is expanding, and so too is our Kitchen and Texas BBQ operation. It’s getting hot in here, but that doesn’t stop us from understanding that the big picture is rooted in serving up delicious and varied culinary experiences, one plate at a time (for breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Our kitchen offering is unlike any other in the region. An eclectic and delicious blend of local ingredients and creative, globally-inspired recipes, our kitchen team and pit crew understand that quality is everything. Perhaps it’s the freshness, perhaps it’s the flavour… either way, folk come in droves on the daily to get their ‘Otto’s Fix’. Now, in order to meet increasing demand, we are seeking suitably qualified Chefs, Cooks and Pitmasters who take pride in what they do… and are in it for the long, low n’ slow haul.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a member of the Otto’s Kitchen crew, you will have a passion and talent for making and serving excellent food. As a member of our stellar team, you will play a key role in ensuring all food is cooked to company quality standards, whilst committing to delivering each plate with creativity and consistency. You will skilfully coordinate with your fellow chefs and kitchen assistants to provide customers with the best possible culinary experience, while making things happen (and making ‘em count). You will do all of this in an open kitchen space, in view of our customers, with whom you will also engage.
By the way, we aren’t joking when we say it can get pretty hot – part of your role includes responsibility for building and maintaining the fire in the pit – Otto’s Smokin’ Rocket.
Experience as a Cook, Chef or Kitchenhand is essential to succeed in these roles.
You are creative. Eagle-eyed. Hungry. Your experience is coupled with the ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment. You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, but your standards are pristine… because where and how you work reflects who you are.
You are immaculately presented, courteous and friendly, consistent and organised. You perform at your best when collaborating as part of a passionate, top-flight team, because there are no battle-lines in our kitchen.
Finally, you’re up for spending 3-6 days a week (including weekends) tantalising the tastebuds of our guests at the hottest spot in town, and you have a genuine interest in the art of Texas BBQ.
