We are doubling our award-winning pie offering and are searching for a suitably qualified Pie Producer to join our team. Want a slice of the pie? Then keep reading.
Otto’s Market has a finger in every pie, and that has never been truer than right now, as the brand works to open a second location.
2019 is a milestone year for Otto’s Market, and our expansion means we can deliver the dream to more people in the local community. As such, we are excited to be doubling our offer of our locally famous, award-winning pies!
Our pies and sausage rolls are hand crafted, fresh every day inside Otto’s Kitchen, and are available in an array of flavours. They truly are something special, and we are looking for an experienced Pie Producer to help us increase our yield.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a member of our Pie Production team, you will work alongside a close-knit group of professionals to carefully craft gourmet pies in small batches, but at high volume. You will curate each and every morsel with care and attention to detail in order to uphold our reputation as purveyors of Townsville’s best pie, and you will utilise premium quality products to craft fillings from scratch – there are no cans in our kitchen!
You will practice safe food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations, whilst maintaining cleanliness and compliance with food sanitation standards.
It is important to be aware that you will be privy to our secret, tried and tested recipe… so integrity and a willingness to observe confidentiality is a must.
You probably already adore our pies and understand that the time we invest in creating them makes an indefinable difference in taste from first to last bite. While pastry experience is not essential, you carry a heartfelt appreciation of beautiful baked goods. You demonstrate a genuine desire to learn new skills from the best in the business. Additionally, you possess a positive attitude and enjoy working as a member of a fast-paced, top-flight team.
Organisational and time management skills are essential, together with the ability to follow clear direction and assist with all preparation and routine clean up. You show a basic understanding of kitchen and food service, and hold (or be able to obtain) a Food Handlers Certificate.
You are proactive, and it is essential that you are available to work early mornings, flexible days including some weekends, for short 4-6 hour shifts. This role requires you on the ground for approximately 30 hours per week.
Finally, you can keep a secret (we know we already said that, but hey, it’s important).
Due to the large volume of applications expected, only short-listed candidates will be contacted.
Wow us with your experience in a brief CV and cover letter to guarantee a response.
